Golf & Giving! – August 25, 2022 This summer we were very grateful to sponsor an exclusive day on the golf course for Beach Grove Golf Club members and their guests. $7260 was raised as the guests competed in a putting contest for a 50/50 draw to raise money for Delta Hospital, and the prize money was generously gifted to Delta Hospital. Thank you for everyone who attended, and Beach Grove staff members for making the day a huge success. Great Day for a Great Cause! – June 23, 2022 What a fantastic day! Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation welcomed us back as a sponsor of their annual golf tournament 19th Hole Reception. An outstanding $357,602 was raised for their surgical services department. It was wonderful to finally be back in person and supporting a such great cause. Royal Columbian Hospital – Staff Appreciation Event – December 20, 2021 Say Mac N’ Cheese! There is no doubt that hospitals worldwide have had many challenges amid the pandemic. We showed our gratitude this holiday by volunteering at the Royal Columbian Hospital staff appreciation events with free mac & cheese and chili days. It was wonderful being able to provide encouragement for both the day and night staff. An impressive 1299 people stopped by for some delicious Mac N’ Cheese! We would like to give a special thank you to everyone who helped spread some holiday cheer, and to the dedicated staff at Royal Columbian Hospital. Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund – November 30, 2021 Happy Giving Tuesday! To help our Abbotsford neighbors in this time of crisis, our team and the staff at our CI Assante Capital Management Ltd. West Pender Branch have donated $11,000 to support the Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund established by the Abbotsford Community Foundation. The fund will support front-line agencies providing essential services to affected families and business. Professional Panel – Charitable Giving Strategies - October 19, 2021 Charitable giving is important to our clients, and it was a pleasure to be invited as a panelist on the topic for the Assante Professional Development day. This was a terrific discussion! We love answering questions on how people can look after their families and support the causes they care about! Thank you to our phenomenal local charities - December 15, 2020 Despite what has been an incredibly difficult year for everyone, we are very grateful for another successful year within our business, and as always, we appreciate the trust, support, and confidence our clients have put in us being their primary advisor. With that in mind, we are giving back by making donations to 4 charities that we know always do great work in our community. We made the following donations; $2,500 to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, $2,500 to Power To Be, $2,500 to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of South Coast B.C. We are also donating an extra $100 to The Greater Vancouver Food Bank as we received a Charity Gift Card through Canada Help as a gift from a client. I had never thought of that as a gift for someone, but what a great idea!! We love where we work - December 1, 2020 We are lucky to be part of such a terrific branch! Our West Pender Assante branch has redirected a portion of the money that is not being spent on our staff Christmas Party this year to a donation to 2 charities. Our group donated $2500 to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank as well as $2500 to Union Gospel Mission. Our staff at Assante Vancouver West Pender personally donated an additional $1500 to Union Gospel Mission to bring that total to $4000 from our branch!! Great day for a great cause - August 26, 2020 2020 has proven to be a challenging year for many non-profits and charities as the global pandemic and social distancing measures have cancelled countless numbers of fundraising events. This Beach Grove Golf Club Corporate Wednesday Men’s Night golf event helped benefit Delta Hospital and the Delta Hospital & Community Health Foundation during these challenging times, raising a phenomenal $10,167! Congratulations to the members of Beach Grove Golf Club, its staff, and all volunteers and participants for stepping forward to support our community and local hospital. We love talking about philanthropy! - November 15, 2019 We had a great day presenting at the Royal Columbian Hospital on the topic of Philanthropic Planning along with Cheryl Norton Regional Vice President of Assante Wealth Planning. It was an honor to meet so many of the hospital’s incredible doctors and to discuss a topic we are so passionate about! Wealth planning services are provided through the professionals of the Wealth Planning Group at CI Assante Private Client, a division of CI Private Counsel LP. The future of hockey is bright - July 1, 2018 Educating others on financial literacy is a lifelong passion. We had the pleasure to do just that when we met with up-and-coming NHL prospects in Edmonton, Montreal and Kelowna. We presented on the unique financial challenges professional athletes and their families face once they become part of the NHL. It was a pleasure to meet our hockey community and their families! Making the Cut - June 9, 2018 We had a great time participating in the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation’s Making the Cut annual golf event. The event brought together some of the hospital’s top surgeons, doctors, nurses as well as business people, community leaders and more! We were happy to help raise funds for the hospital allowing them to purchase new equipment and support some of the province’s most critically ill and injured. Supporting young athletes on the ice January 9, 2018 Hockey, a sport we love to play, watch and champion! Our local community has terrific young athletes, and we were proud to support the South Delta Pee Wee A1 Hockey Tournament Showcase. Go South Delta go!
